Dominique. She is rare, and hearty, and has an extra layer of fluff to protect her from the nasty New England winters. Actually the ubiquitous Bared Rock gets its lovely check board pattern from the Dominique, but there is something much fluffier and cute about the Dominique Hens,
and the Roosters, they are magnificent Kings of the Barnyard! The Dominiques are very good layers despite the fact that they are a bit broody but they lay a big gorgeous egg almost everyday during laying season.
