My sister is on a cross country journey with her boyfriend. I am taking care of her adorable dog Zoe. I thought she might enjoy some cute pictures of Zoe on the road, because isn't that what you miss most when you travel? Pets and loved ones? Fortunately Zoe and my dog Max get along really well. As you all know I find pictures of our small dogs with chickens very , very amusing, I hope you do too!
*a note on our toy dogs. My sister and I grew up with wolf and bear eating guard dogs(more on those later), and super smart active border collies. When we moved to the city we wanted small dogs that were suited for city life. I have heard a lot of people say: "I do not like small dogs." Or that looks like a prissy dog, I can tell you that Max might be a Pomeranian but he is not prissy, he is attractive, healthy, very active but most importantly HAPPY. It is important to keep that in mind when you get a dog in the city or even the suburbs if you work a lot. Our pounds are filled with working dog breeds like huskies and border collies who can not handle being idle. Idleness can create bad behavior in dogs that need to be exercised this is true of small and big working breeds alike. I might be wrong but I can not say enough good things about my little Max who is a toy breed, he even goes on 8 mile hikes in the Adirondacks with me!

your pics remind me of my years at my parents farm (wasn't a working farm, just for horses, chickens and a couple billy goats), but I had a pet turkey that I CHERISHED. He followed me everywhere, would bang on the front door early in the mornings for me to come out with him. Whenever I would get in my car to drive away you could see him running down the long dirt road after me. I miss that little guy.....
thanks for this comment. it is funny my parents farm sometimes seems like a big hobby farm, fortunately the grass-fed meats have been successful! it is funny when i envision my ideal adult life it is with a farm like your parents, where there are a few friendly farm animals that hang out, just for the pleasure and education of little kids. we never had turkeys on our farm, they are amazing, but my parents do have an emu!
that is so sweet that the turkey took a liking to you!
Max and Zoe are both cuties. It's nice that they get along since they're...cousins? :D
yea its funny, ive traveled to europe every summer since i was twelve, and never once was i home sick or miss anybody. but this past summer, i really wanted nothing more than to walk my dog. Im still trying to get over my bias against small dogs, my sister just brought home a mini-dachshund (yes thats right, you can get a miniture version of an already miniture dog). wow now you got me missing all my old boarder collies lol.
Online Pastry Chef: that is very true!:)
VR: Yeah, I know a lot of people do not like small dogs. i am not sure about over breed small dogs either, my point is that prissy dogs are prefect for our prissy modern lives! border collies are the best!
;) thanks for the post Zoe and max are so adorable!
Little Big House! Glad you like the pics:)
